ActiveGalaXy Control

The ActiveGalaXy control visualizes a set of documents as a collection of labeled document clusters. Each cluster is composed of one or more similar documents and similar clusters are grouped together.

The mouse can be used to select clusters or individual documents for review in a document viewer. Documents of interest can be visually marked on the screen for later review.

In the course of processing, the ActiveGalaXy control selects certain signature terms which it uses to differentiate the documents. These terms can be shown in the main display and used for corpus analysis (see Screen Shots below).

The Users Guide provides detailed instructions for user interaction.

The home page shows a screen shot of an early version for a large collection of e-books.

A more current view, in a fully expanded window and displaying the signature terms, shows a visualization of the same document collection. Here the highlighted terms are contained in the cluster Knowledge and the highlighted signature term Science has caused a graying of those cluster regions which contain that term. This shows that, in this collection at least, knowledge does not contain much science! The ActiveGalaXy Users Guide gives a better explaination.

There is no current download for the ActiveGalaXy control.
