TwitterGalaXy Users Guide |
Search |
Enter the search terms of interest into the
Search Terms box. The entire search syntax provided by Twitter is
available to the user. Clicking the Search button begins the
process of downloading Tweets and displaying them in the ActiveGalaXy control. A seperate
users guide explains the use of this control.

File |
The File menu button has 5 entries:
- Load... -- Loads a previously saved data set from XML.
- Load/Merge... -- Loads a previously saved data set from XML and merges it with the current data.
- Save... -- Saves the current data as XML.
- Save/Append... -- Saves the current data by appending it to an existing XML file.
- Trends -- Lists the current Twitter trends. Clicking on
a trend will initiate a search.

Options |
The Options menu button has 4 entries:
- View -- One can choose between viewing vocabulary vs vocabulary
and time vs vocabulary galaxies.
- Delete Duplicates -- When checked, duplicate tweets will be ignored.
- Include Peripheral Converstaions -- When checked, returned data will include complete
conversations in which the search terms appeared. Note that this mode takes slightly longer and may fail
if the format of the Twitter pages suddenly changes.
- Use Stopwords -- When checked, words in the StopWords.txt file will be
ignored unless the tweet contains only stopwords.

Max Count |
Controls the maximum number of tweets that will be shown.

Max Interval |
Controls the maximum time interval that will be shown.
