Node Menu | The following items in the node menu are currently operational:
|
Tree Menu | The tree node menu is the same as the cluster node menu with the following addition:
|
Selecting Documents | Documents can be selected with either a left-click and drag or by pressing ctrl-C and moving the cursor across the node of a cluster. They are automatically selected when viewing documents from the node menu. |
Spreader Bar | The vertical scroll bar on the right hand side is the spreader bar. This control causes the cluster nodes to move apart to a more regular, sometimes lattice-like, configuration. Note that in the process some cluster labels may change. A cluster label is choosen on the basis of the "most representative" signature term in the context of its nearest mesh neighbors. That label may not be the "most representative" in an absolute sense. Examination of the arrow shaped (look closely) lines under the Mesh backgraph option (see above) and the transparency of the label can help reveal how independent a cluster label is amongst its neighbors. In fact, clusters which are surrounded by other clusters with more "authority" about all neighboring signature terms may not have a label. A Galaxy View from CorpusDOG shows clusters with mixed RID emotions and consequently no label. |
Facets | In the lower right hand corner a fraction will appear as N / M. This indicates the total number of facet pages, M, and the index of the current facet page, N. A facet is a set of terms which are connected in the sense that one could start at any term and, by stepping from document to document, changing terms at each step, get to any other term in the set. If M is greater than 1, yellow increment (up) and decrement (down) arrows will appear. Clicking on these will navigate between the facet pages. The last facet page is usually composed of a large number of small facets enclosed in white bounding boxes. |
